Oh, the options!!!  They are many.
.
For real, let's just be clear here, styling basic t-shirts, oversized t-shirts, "lacking anything visually interesting" t-shirts, or any variety in between can be intimidating (if you're like me) and/or boring (also if you're like me-it can go either way), depending on your personality..but the one common denominator for this basic, oversized, boring tee dilemma...are the OPTIONS!  And they are endless...or nearly...well, there are a good handful.
.
When we get through with you, you will no longer consider yourself an amateur in the world of styling that oversized tee, you my friend, will be a PRO!
.
Option 1
The Rose side twist
.
Gather the front of the tee, slightly to the side of your choice, start to twist and then twist into a knot.  Once secured, continue to tuck or adjust the rest of the tee until it lays how just you'd like it to.
.
This look seems complicated, but don't overthink it, it really is quite simple.
.
.
Option 2
The Ruched Look
.
Take an elastic, grab a small section of shirt on both sides of your bellybutton at the same time and fold one to the center, then the other folded over the first, like a pleat.  They should make a sort of pleat over your bellybutton.  While holding the folds in place, carefully grab the tee from directly underneath the middle of the fold and wrap the elastic around that gathered section until tight.  Let the shirt fall and then tuck in all of the sides.  This should create a playful ruched look, with hardly any effort!
.
.
Option 3
The Midriff
.
For this one you will loosly tuck under the back of the tee, take the front into two "bunny ear" sections and tie in a knot.  After the knot is complete, tuck the front of the shirt up and under  and viola, a very trendy midriff look.
.
And it doesn't end there.....you can tuck the entire back up under your bra (for a bare midriff back only style), loosely knot the front and fold the knot under or twist and tuck, hitting waist high - give or take.
OR
Twist up the front/side of your top until a tight-ish knob and tuck into pants and gently tuck and adjust the rest to your liking. That's it, super simple.
MAYBE
You'd like to put the Rose Side Twist directly in the center instead...OR put that baby in the back for a Rose BACKTwist.
.
What if you don't necessarily want to knot, tie or twist, then how else can you style your large fitting tee??
.
.
Well, the right combinations, are how!  Pick a pair of black (or any color) denim jeans, tuck the shirt, add a belt and a shacket, and you've got yourself a pretty fab outfit.
.
OR
.
.
Keep the jeans and the boots, but instead of wearing your shacket, tie a denim jacket around your waist, grab your crossbody bag for style AND function...then add a trendy hat!
.
And when all else fails......
.
.
Just do the tried and true front tuck, throw on some sunnies and add a pretty gold chain.  It looks good no matter how you style it!
.
YOU GUYS!!!  The point is...there is so much that you can do to make the oversized, basic tee anything but basic!  Get creative and try something new.  Just don't be intimidated(or bored) and most importantly, make it work for YOU.
