For today's Bold and Full spotlight, we're excited to feature Frida Kahlo de Rivera (July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954), a Mexican painter.

At the age of 18, Frida Kahlo was in a tragic bus accident, breaking her collarbone, spinal column, ribs, pelvis, right leg, and left her unable to have children. Completely immobilized in a full-body cast for three months, Frida took up painting. She spent the rest of her life creating over 140 beautiful paintings and several more drawings, all influenced by her Mexican heritage, physical hardships, and personal life. Sharing her beliefs and struggles through her paintings, Frida radiated passion despite the health and personal challenges she faced. Today, her work carries on her legacy and is celebrated as an emblem of Mexican tradition and the female existence.
