Bold and Full: Susan B. Anthony
Our next Bold and Full woman is Susan B. Anthony (February 15, 1820 - March 13, 1906), in honor of Women's Equality Day!
Susan was an abolitionist and women's right activist who knew what she wanted for her life and for others', and who radiated passion and confidence as she fought for it. Actively involved in equal rights issues from a young age, Susan was introduce to Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Together as a tribe, the two formed the New York State Woman's Rights Committee, established the National Woman Suffrage Association, started petitions, and dedicated their lives to the work. Although she died 14 years before women legally received the right to vote (in 1920 with the passing of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution), Susan's hustle made her a leading figure in the women's suffrage movement.
