What is a group of butterflies called??  Do you know?  Did you know before now?  It's called a Kaleidoscope!
.
Kaleidoscope essentially means a, "constantly changing pattern".  And what better represents change than a butterfly?!  Because butterflies symbolize hope, transformation and new beginnings.
.

.
Change can be hard and it's not always welcome or understood until you see it from the other side and can look back on where you've been and what you've become.
.
Just like the caterpillar, who is likely content for a time, but limited.  Do they know what they are missing while they slowly inch their way forward, and barely cover ground?  Are they ashamed of their apparent plainness and lack of "beauty" in a world rich with color?
.
.
Maybe...but I don't think so.
.
I think that even though they must have an inner drive to follow a destined path, they are happy in their temporary purpose.  Because even though it is temporary, it is a necessary part of their story.
.
And just because it is instinctual for them to follow a natural path, it doesn't discount the pain and effort it must require for the metamorphic change they cannot avoid.  It is no small feat when a caterpillar changes to a butterfly, but the reward far outweighs the work.  To emerge from the 'darkness' a stronger and more beautiful version of yourself....not just because of how you look, but what you've become.   WHO you've become on the inside.  Now, that is the most wonderful reward of all.
.
.
Every day is a new beginning full of hope and opportunity.  Every moment is a chance for learning and growth.  Every challenge is a fire that forges you....not to hold you down, but to give you wings.
.
You are as beautiful, unique and irreplaceable as a butterfly.  Your experiences are key to your transformation and when we embrace our differences and come together, it isn't chaos.....it's called a Kaleidoscope.
